Attendance

Ensuring regular attendance is crucial for the success of students. Attending school regularly not only helps children academically but also fosters a sense of routine, responsibility, and engagement with their learning environment. Consistent attendance allows students to fully participate in classroom activities, build relationships with peers and teachers, and stay on track with their educational journey. At CDSD, we prioritize attendance because we understand its significant impact on student achievement and overall well-being.

If your student cannot come to school for illness or other reasons, the absence must be followed up by sending an excuse note, signed by the parent/guardian to the school within 3 days of the absence.

  • The note can be brought to the main office OR faxed to 717-657-0537
  • The note can be sent via email to lmsattendance@cdschools.org
  • Any notes received after 3 days from the absence will be considered unlawful.

If your student needs an Early Dismissal we ask that you please send a signed note in the day of.  Please pick up your children for early dismissals no later than 1:45 pm.

Please click here if you need an Educational Trip Form.  Forms must be turned in prior to the absence.  No days will be approved during PSSA Testing.
